Why Choose Modern Technology School?
Choosing the right school is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make for your future in Diagnostic Healthcare. At Modern Technology School, we’ve built a supportive, hands-on learning environment that prepares students for real success in the field, since 1981.
Whether you’re training to become an X-ray Tech, Medical Assistant, or Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist, our small class sizes, experienced instructors, and included clinical internships and all-inclusive benefits make all the difference. Explore the FAQs below to learn what sets us apart, and why so many of our graduates are now thriving in healthcare careers throughout California.
What Do the All-Inclusive Programs at MTS Provide?
At MTS, all of our Diagnostic Healthcare Career Training programs are all-inclusive, meaning you get everything you need in order to begin your new career as an X-ray Tech, Medical Assistant, or Ultrasound/Vascular Tech, under one program & one tuition!
Here are a list of some of the basics that our all-inclusive programs provide (we'll dive in deeper in the tabs below):
- All Your Prerequisites: Our programs start you with a solid foundation and build from there. This means you can begin any of our programs with no prior Healthcare experience and be out in the field in as little as 12 to 18 months, depending on the program you choose!
- Clinical Internship: No need to find your own -- we've got you covered! We place our students in a clinical internship at the end of their training, so that you can get real-world experience in the field! Not only does it take the load off of the student's shoulders, but it also makes you more attractive to Diagnostic Healthcare employers straight out of the gate!
- Job Placement Assistance & Career Help: While job placement isn't guaranteed and will depend on many factors, we do provide our students with all the necessary tools and assistance for securing employment after their training. Not only do we provide job placement assistance, but we also offer Career Help, including help with resumes & cover letters, conducting practice interviews, writing the perfect follow-up emails, etc... all of which will be covered in-depth in the blue tabs below!
- Medical Assistant Cross-Training for X-ray Tech Students: Our X-ray Tech program is coupled with Medical Assisting Training, so that students are ready to meet the demands of CA Diagnostic Healthcare Employers, who are looking for a hybrid of XT & MA. We train for both under one 12-month program, and one tuition! No need to find two programs or pay extra; we also cover your internship for both!
- Textbooks & Scrubs: We know that these days, even small costs like purchasing all your own textbooks and paying out of pocket for your own scrubs can add up quickly! Therefore, we make it a point to include both textbooks, as well as scrubs to all of our students, so that they can focus on what matters most!
- The Cost of Your First Exam(s) Covered: Again, we never want to nickel & dime our students. As such, the cost of your first exam(s) for X-ray Tech / Medical Assistant and Ultrasound/Vascular Tech programs is covered!
- Zero Parking & Lab Fees: Those small costs at other schools & colleges really add-up, even when considering things like parking passes and your lab fees. We cover both for our students -- parking is free here at Modern Technology School, and you never have to worry about paying extra fees for your labs/equipment!
- Small Class Sizes: Small class sizes = more hands-on practice, more feedback, and more confidence. You’re never just a face in the crowd here at MTS. Small class sizes allow for more hands-on practice and personalized instruction. In a more intimate learning environment, every student has more one-on-one access to the instructor, more opportunities to practice positioning, and more chances to ask questions and receive immediate feedback. Instead of getting lost in a crowd, each student is seen, guided, and nurtured — which leads to stronger skills and greater confidence in the clinical setting.
- Hands-on Training: Hands-on training is where classroom knowledge truly comes to life. For both X-ray Tech/Medical Assistant and Ultrasound/Vascular Tech students, learning by doing is essential to building real confidence and adding to your professional skill-set. In a small-school environment, students get direct, one-on-one experience with equipment, procedures, and patient interaction—developing the muscle memory and clinical judgment they’ll rely on every day in the field. Working closely with instructors and peers in a supportive, focused setting helps bridge the gap between theory and real-world healthcare, ensuring graduates don’t just understand their roles, they’re ready to step into them with precision, care, and confidence!
- Tutoring: We've been doing this long enough to know that every student could use a little help with certain subject matter or their technique -- whether it's a concept they may not grasp, or something they may be missing while scanning or positioning patients in order to get the perfect image. Because of this, our instructors and small class sizes lend themselves to a create a perfect environment for tutoring and extra care when it comes to ensuring our students get the training they need to succeed out in the field!
Why is Clinical Internship Important, and Do I Need to Find My Own?
Clinical internship is where everything you’ve learned in the classroom comes together. It gives you real-world experience working with patients, medical teams, and equipment in a professional setting—building confidence and skill before graduation. Best of all, at Modern Technology School, we arrange your clinical site for you, so you can focus on learning and gaining valuable hands-on experience!
What Can I Expect from Job Placement Assistance?
