Start a Radiology Career at MTS with X-Ray or Ultrasound
If you’d like to start a radiology career, Modern Technology School has two great radiology programs for you. The ultrasound/vascular tech course takes about 18 months to complete. This program prepares students with classroom lectures and labs. During this part of the ultrasound program, students spend about 24 hours a week in classes. Once students begin their clinicals, they will be working up to 40 hours a week. After graduating, students start a radiology career as entry-level ultrasound or vascular techs. Students must work for 12 months. At that point, MTS grads may sit for one of the exams from either the ARDMS or the ARRT.
MTS Offers Two Radiology Programs
The x-ray technician program also offers students a path to a career in radiology. This program is 44 to 48 weeks long. Students who choose the x-ray tech program also get training as medical assistants. The medical assistant exam is offered as part of the program. X-ray tech students also finish the program with a clinical internship. X-ray grads take the California State X-Ray Technician Examination. Once they have passed the exam, grads can find a job in a clinic or doctor’s office.
